Design Meets Engineering

Bannon & Son aren't just designers, they're engineers and tradesmen who happen to think in wood. That combination is rare, and it's why other designers bring them in when a vision's ambition outpaces certainty: when nobody's sure yet whether wood can actually do what's being asked of it, given the engineering involved. They also partner with tradesmen in other materials, blacksmiths, metallurgists, granite and marble workers, to bring mixed-material visions to life. The results have included stair treads built into a renovated silo, a movable outdoor bar for a New York City restaurant, and custom wooden sets for high-end fashion photo shoots. If your project needs someone to figure out whether an idea is even possible in wood, and then build it, that's this.
